A few weeks ago the fabulous Niklas Liepe released his second big project #GoldbergReflections on SONY Classical. The CD is a combination of historical arrangements by Andreas N. Tarkmann combined with new variations/reflections on the bach-original by Rolf Rudin, Sidney Corbett, Andreas N. Tarkmann, Wolf Kerschek, Moritz Eggert, Daniel Sundy, Tobias Rokahr, Friedrich Heinrich Kern, Stephan Koncz & Konstantia Gourzi. In the first month after the release it even made it to the charts for classical music in Germany (#KlassikCharts).

On this occasion i wrote the piece "Schlaflos" (=Sleepless) for solo-violin & string orchestra, which was recorded by the NDR Radiophilharmonie (conducted by Jamie Phillips) and Niklas Liepe in february 2020. The result is an extremly beautiful recording and I wonder if (especially) the solo-cadence in the middle of the piece could be interpreted any better!

Press reactions:

"And almost like a ghostly being shimmers Dominik Dieterle's "Sleepless after J.S. Bach" (RONDO - Das Klassik&JazzMagazin)

"Dominik J. Dieterle with his restless motorically pushing „Sleepless after J.S. Bach“" (www.onlinemerker.com)

"Very rhythmical, with electrifyingly written virtuosic passages and gorgeously fashioned piano-passages in "Sleepless after J.S. Bach" (Sven Godenrath)

I am extremly glad to be (again) part of such an interesting project with such an extremely broad spectre of stylistic approaches.
